不知道是我疯了还是社会疯了，自从‘潜规则’这个词被发明以来，它几乎在一瞬间以惊人的速度迅速蔓延到了报纸的每一版上。从最初的娱乐界到商界、政界甚至学术界，终于每一个犯了错误的孩子的都可以在这铺天盖地的潜规则面前摆出一副“人在江湖身不由己”的无辜面孔，于是仿佛这一切的错误都顿时成了社会的责任，而行为主体反而倒成了应当被同情的对象。诚然，社会制度的缺失是一个理由，但作为行为主体的人，难受除了随波逐流之外就没有任何其它的选择吗？中华文化几千年来传承以久的气节和操守都死到哪儿去了？连学生抄袭论文被抓都以潜规则为自己辩护，我实在不知道该对这些孩子说什么好了。深夜吐糟，不欢迎拍砖。

Last week was a bit messy. Due to various reasons, I have not achieved mush during the past 10 days. Thus there are not really many things to mention. Nonethless, leaving a short record is still a good thing.

Firstly, I have tested the code package of the Point Detector. BUGs were not found but unfortunately my computer crashed during the installation of the preliminary software. It costed me days to restore my computer back to normal, which was a definitely an unproductive waste of time. Then, I have investigated a little bit into the issue of synchronizing video, audio and gaze tracking streams, which would be captured by different computers. Many methods, including using camera trigger signal or GPS time stamp as extra sychronization data, have been studied. However, the final solution will still largely dependent on how the gaze tracker exactly works. Therefore, most of the discussion was virtually based on our own speculation and thus is useless unless we can get more technical detail from the producer of the gaze tracker.

The third issue, which really counts, is that I have modified the framework with respect to the points mentioned in LOG_2008_10_31. Usage of references and pointers are now in consistent manner and the PublishMessage function would use the full allocated time trying to send out messages whenever possible. Nevertheless, the direct P2P communication was still not introduced yet due to the mass modification work it may require. I have also given some thoughts on how our framework might be extented to supported multiple hosts. But because only very initial idea exists so far, I would rather to describe the whole design some time later. Old version of the framework and its test projects are now officially filed.

Development of the demo system was started last week but was then interrupted unexpectedly. This will be my main task in the following 2 weeks.

To keep a reminder, I also need to:

* Finish the time sheet.
* Get a libary card.
* Ask the CSG people to adjust my login ID's privilege.
